Health insurance news - Parents should educate children on sun safety
It is important that health insurance customers try and educate their children on the importance of wearing sunscreen and overall sun safety, an expert has suggested.
Bevis Man of the British Skin Foundation said it is worth educating children so they are aware of why it is important not to spend too long in the sun and what precautions they should be taking.
Mr Man also said that schools can play a part in pushing the message of practising sun safety to children and believes that some of the messaging should be aimed towards teachers.
"Some schools are very active in this area; others less so, though the best way of finding out if those messages are working will be to evaluate their behaviour as adults," Mr Man added.
A recent study in the US published in the journal Pediatrics found that children are more likely to ignore sun protection as they age if they are not educated.
